    ٤١٢٧ - عَوْفُ بن النُّعْمَان (د ع) عَوْفُ بن النُّعْمَان الشّيبانيّ. أدرك النبي ﵌. روى العوام بن حوشب، عن لهب بن الخندق (¬٥) قال: قال عوف ابن النعمان - وكان في الجاهلية-: «لأَن أَموت عطشاً أَحب إِليّ من أَن أَكون مِخلافاً للوعد». أخرجه ابن منده وأبو نعيم.
