    ٢١٦٦ - (¬١) -[أبو ذرّ الهروي] ومنهم عبد بن أحمد بن محمد بن عبد الله الهروي الحافظ أبو ذرّ، رجل معروف مشهور من أهل الحديث، صوفي مالكي، من المجاورين بمكّة، كان ورعا زاهدا عالما سخيّا بما يجد، لا يدّخر شيئا للغد، وكان من كبار مشايخ الحرمين، مشارا إليه في التصوف لعلمه بطريقتهم، حسن الأخلاق، شديد التواضع، أهلا للصحبة والاقتداء به [٨١ أ]. سمع الحديث بهراة وخراسان والجبال وفارس والعراق والكوفة والحجاز وصنّف في الحديث، وخرّج على الصحيحين تخريجا حسنا. حدّث عن أبي الفضل ابن خميرويه، وأبي منصور الأزهري، وأبي إسحاق المستملي، والدارقطني، وابن شاهين وطبقتهم. توفي سنة [أربع] وثلاثين وأربع مئة.
