    ذكر عود السلطان من الشّام [٥٤٥] إلى الديار المصريّة: ولما فرغ أمر السلطان خرج من دمشق عائدا إلى الديار المصريّة، فدخلها يوم الحادى عشر من ذى الحجة من هذه السنة (¬٤)، وكان يوم دخوله يوما مشهودا، وجاءت إليه هدية صاحب اليمن (¬٥) مشتملة على تحف شتى وكتاب إلى السلطان،وسأله الإنتماء والحضور إلى جنابه وأنه يخطب له ببلاد اليمن، فأرسل له السلطان خلعا وسنجقا وتقليدا.
