(١٧٢ - الزّبير بن علىّ بن أبى شيخة الأسوانىّ (¬*)) الزّبير بن علىّ بن سيّد الأهل (¬١) الأسوانىّ، المعروف بابن أبى شيخة اشتغل بالفقه، وقرأ القرآن على الزّين سلامة، والسّراج عبد الواحد، وتصدّر بجامع (¬٢) عمرو ابن العاص رضى الله عنه، بمصر سنين كثيرة، تقرأ عليه القراءات/ وانتقل إلى المدينة. سمع الحديث من محمد بن الحسن (¬٣) بن رشيق، وأبى العبّاس بن تامتيت (¬٤)، وأبى صادق ابن الحافظ أبى الحسين العطّار. وهو الآن مقيم بالمدينة [المنوّرة]، على ساكنها أفضل الصّلاة والسّلام. وتوفّى بالمدينة ليلة الجمعة رابع شهر ربيع الأوّل، وصلّى عليه صبيحة يوم الجمعة سنة ثمان (¬٥) وأربعين وسبعمائة.
