[ب ك] قال الحاكم: كان من الصالحين، أول ما التقينا ببغداد سنة إحدى وأربعين، ثم إنه ورد خراسان سنة ثلاث وأربعين، وأقام بنيسابور مدة، ثم خرج إلى مرو، [ب] ولزم أبا العباس المحبوبي، وأكثر عنه، واختصه أبو العباس لصحبة ولده أبي محمد رفيقي بمرو على بابه، [ب ك] إلى أن مات بها سنة ست وأربعين وثلاثمائة. [ب] سمع بالشام وبغداد، ودخل أصبهان، فسمع "مسند أبي داود"، وكان مع ذلك يختص بصحبة الصالحين من الصوفية.

    يوسف بن إسماعيل بن يوسف أبو يعقوب الساوي الصوفي قال أبو نعيم الحافظ: قدم أصبهان في سنة ثلاث وأربعين وثلاثمائة. كثير الحديث. قال الحاكم أبو عبد الله: أبو يعقوب الساوي كان من الصالحين. التقينا ببغداد سنة إحدى وأربعين، ثم ورد خراسان سنة ثلاث وأربعين، وأقام بنيسابور مدة، ثم خرج إلى مرو، وبقي بمرو إلى أن مات بها سنة ست وأربعين وثلاثمائة.
