[٦٩٦] محمَّد بن حيّان الصوفي، أبو بكر، صاحب الأحوال، مدفون في مقبرةالحسين ﵁. قال الحاكم: هو من كبار مشايخ الصوفية، وممن جرى له ببغداد مع الشِّبْلي مناظراتٌ كثيرة. وكان يغشانا أيام والدي، وكان يحفظ حديثًا قرأه عليَّ مرّات، سمعه من محمَّد بن مَنْدَة، عن بكر بن بكّار. توفي في جُمادى الآخرة سنة خمس وثلاثين وثلاثمائة، وقد صحب أبا عثمان الحيري.
