[٣٦٨] عبد الله بن محمد (¬١) بن حمدويه بن نعيم بن الحكم المؤذن، أبو محمد البيّع، والد الحاكم أبو (¬٢) عبد الله الحافظ النيسابوري مصنِّف هذا التاريخ. قال الحاكم: هو الَّذي أذّن ثلاثًا وستين سنة محتسبًا، وحجَّ ثلاث حجج، وغزا اثنتين وعشرين غزوة، وما ترك قيام الليل، وأنفق على العلماء والزُّهّاد أكثر من مائة ألف. [أدرك عبد الله بن أحمد بن حنبل ومسلم بن الحجاج، وروى عن ابن خزيمة وغيره]. توفي سنة تسع وثلاثين وثلاثمائة [عن ثلاث وتسعين سنة].
