[ص كث] قال الحاكم: كان من أهل نيسابور، ومن المقدَّمين في الكتابة والأدب، وتفقَّه على مذهب الشافعي، وقُلِّد التزكية باتفاقٍ من الفريقين. [ص كث] وسمع الحديث من ابن خزيمة، وأبي العباس ابن السَّرّاج، وأقرانهما، ولم يُحَدِّث حتى توفي سنة تسع وثلاثين وثلاثمائة.
