٢٠٨٢ - سُفْيَان بْن عيينة أَبُو مُحَمَّد مولى بني هلال الكوفِي سكن مكة، قَالَ لِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي الأَسْوَدِ: مات سنة ثمان وسبعين ومائة، وَقَالَ لنا علي عَنِ ابْن عيينة: ولدت سنة سبع ومائة وجالست الزُّهْرِيّ وأنا ابْن ست عشرة سنة وشهرين ونصف وقدم علينا الزُّهْرِيّ سنة ثلاث وعشرين ومائة وخرج إلى الشام ومات. روى عَنْهُ همام بْن يَحْيَى وابْن المبارك ووكيع، قَالَ لي الجعفِي سَمِعت ابْن عيينة يَقُولُ: سألت الزُّهْرِيّ عَنْ حديث وثم خصيان وحشم فطردوني فقَالَ: دعوه، ثم قَالَ: مَا رأيت أحدا يطلب هذا الشأنأصغر منه.
