الزبير بن خريت: "بصري"، تابعي، ثقة، ثبت، وسمع من أنس بن مالك، وكان مع قتيبة بخراسان، وكان إبراهيم يقول له، اتق الله لا تصل مع قتيبة، ويقال: إن سفيان الثوري سمع منه بمرو، وكان سفيان أجر نفسه إلى خراسان بستمائة درهم من قوم على أن يقبض ميراثًا لهم، فسمع منه في مدته تلك، وكان الزبير صاحب سنة.
