    ٧١٤ - خبيب بْن عَبْد اللَّه بْن الزُّبَيْر بْن العوام الْقُرَشِيّ الأسدي، مات قبل أن يستخلف عُمَر بْن عَبْد العزيز، روى عنهُ عثمان بْن حكيم - قاله (٢) عَبْد اللَّه بْن مُحَمَّد الجعفي حدثنا هشام بْن يوسف أخبرنا مَعمَر عَنْ أخي الزُّهْرِيّ (٣) قَالَ: كتب الوليد إلى عُمَر وهو على المدينة: أنيضرب خبيب بْن عَبْد اللَّه بْن الزبير فضربه أسواطا فأقامه فمات فسَمِعت سالم بْن عَبْد اللَّه يَقُولُ: عاب اللَّه على مُوسَى قتل نفس كافرة.
