(٧٦٨) وأخوهما لأبيهما وأمهما: معبد (¬١) بن كعب بن مالك (¬٢). ولد: -كعبا. -وأم كلثوم. وأمهما: حفصة بنت النّعمان بن جبير بن صخر بن أميّة بن خنساء بن سنان بن عبيد.روى معبد بن كعب عن: أبي قتادة، وجابر بن عبد الله، وأخيه عبد الله. روى عنه: الوليد بن كثير، والعلاء بن عبد الرحمن، ومحمّد بن عمرو بن حلحلة، وأسامة بن زيد، ومحمّد بن إسحاق، وعقيل بن خالد. روى له: البخاري، ومسلم، والنسائي، وابن ماجة.
