(٣٣٩) ومنهم: كعب (¬١) بن زيد بن قيس بن مالك بن كعب (¬٢) بن عبد الأشهل (¬٣) بن حارثة (¬٤) بن دينار (¬٥). وأمه: ليلى بنت عبد الله بن ثعلبة بن جشم بن مالك بن سالم الحبلى. وكان لكعب من الولد: -عبد الله. -وجميلة. وأمهما: أم الرياع سعيدة بنت عبد عمرو بن مسعود بن كعب بن عبد الأشهل بن حارثة بن دينار، وهي أخت: النّعمان، والضحاك، وقطبة، بني: عبد عمرو. شهد كعب بن زيد: بدرا، وأحدا، وبئر معونة، وارتث (¬٦) يومئذ، وشهد الخندق، الخندق، وقتل يومئذ شهيدا (¬٧)، قتله ضرار بن الخطاب الفهري، وذلك في ذي القعدة سنة خمس من الهجرة (¬٨). وليس لكعب بن زيد عقب.
