    (١٦٧) والعقب لأخيه: سنان (¬٥) بن الحارث (¬٦). زوج: أم سهل بنت سهل بن عتيك. وقد تقدم ذكرهم في: بني عتيك بن عمرو (¬٧). قال ابن سعد: أنا محمّد بن عمر (¬٨)، حدثني أبو بكر بن عبد الله بن أبي سبرة عن محمّد بن عبد الله بن أبي صعصعة عن الحارث بن عبد الله بن كعب، قال: حدثني من نظر إلى أبي أسيرة بن الحارث بن علقمة، يوم أحد، ونظر أحد بني عويف (¬٩)، فقتله؛ذبحه بسيفه كما تذبح الشاة ونهض عنه، ويقبل خالد بن الوليد، وهو على فرس أدهم أغرّ محجل يجر قناة طويلة، فطعن أبا أسيرة [١٤٩/أ] من خلفه، فنظرت إلى سنان الرمح خرج من صدره ووقع أبو أسيرة ميتا، وتحطم الرمح، وانصرف خالد بن الوليد، وهو يقول: أنا أبو سليمان.
