    آل شمس في الرياض، وفي المبرز في الأحساء، من عرينة (¬٣) من الرباب من بني تميم نسبا من سبيع حلفا منهم الشيخ/ سليمان بن شمس العريني الربابي التميمي نسبا السبيعي حلفا (¬٤)، ولآل شمس ذكر في تاريخ الرياض حيث قتل واحد منهم من دهام بن دواس في معركة الشباب عام ١١٥٩ هـ، والحاصل أن المترجم له ولد في مدينة الرياض في أول القرن التاسع الهجري ونشأ فيها وتعلم على علمائها، منهم الشيخ/ حسين بن عثمان بن زيد الحنبلي، ثم الشافعي وتوفي ولم يعرف متى توفى إلا أنه وجد حكما له في عام ٩٦٩ هـ والله أعلم - رحمه الله تعالى.
