    ٧٦٧٩- مالك بن عمرو الثقفي. ذكر وثيمة في «كتاب الردة» أنّ أبا بكر وجّهه رسولا إلى مسيلمة باليمامة. فخطب عنده خطبة بليغة دعاه فيها إلى الرجوع إلى الحق. فغضب منه وهم بقتله، فهرب منه، وأنشد له مرثية في حبيب بن زيد الأنصاري الّذي قتله مسيلمة منها: وقال له الكذّاب تشهد أنّني ... رسول فنادى إنّني لست أسمع [الطويل] وقد تقدم أنه لم يبق عند حجة الوداع من قريش وثقيف أحد إلا أسلم وشهدها، فلذلك ذكرته في هذا القسم.
