وفي «باب مثل المؤمن مثل النخلة» قال مسلم: حدثنا ابن نمير، نا أبي، نا سيف، قال: سمعت مجاهداً يقول: سمعت ابن عمر يقول: أتي رسول الله ﷺ بجمارٍ. في نسخة ابن الحذاء: حدثنا ابن نمير، نا أبي، نا سفيان، سمعت مجاهداً، جعل سفيان بدل سيف، والصواب: سيف. وهو: سيف بن أبي سليمان يروي عن مجاهد، ويقال فيه: سيف بن سليمان، وسيف أبو سليمان، كل محفوظ. قال البخاري: وكيع يقول: سيف أبو سليمان، وابن المبارك يقول: سيف بن أبي سليمان، ويحيى القطان يقول: سيف بن سليمان.
