    وفي «باب أرواح الشهداء» قال مسلم: حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى وأبو بكر بن أبي شيبة، كلاهما عن أبي معاوية. وحدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم، قال أنا جرير وعيسى ابن يونس، جميعاً عن الأعمش. وحدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن نمير -واللفظ له- قال نا أسباط وأبو معاوية، قالا نا الأعمش، عن عبد الله ابن مرة، عن مسروق، قال: سألنا عبد الله عن هذه الآية: ﴿ولا تحسبن الذين قتلوا في سبيل الله أمواتاً﴾ الحديث موقوفاً. وهكذا أتى: سألنا عبد الله -غير منسوبٍ-. قال أبو مسعود الدمشقي: ومن الناس من ينسبه؛ فيقول: عن عبد الله بن عمرو، والله أعلم.وفي مسند ابن مسعود ذكره أبو مسعود.
