ومنهم: محمد بن زياد ومحمد بن زياد كلاهما تابعي، ويرويان عن الصحابة. فالأول منهما: هو محمد بن زياد أبو الحارث الجمحي القرشي مولاهم البصري، صاحب أبي هريرة، يروي عنه شعبة وغيره، رويا له. والثاني: هو محمد بن زياد أبو سفيان الألهاني الحمصي، سمع أبا أمامة الباهلي، روى عنه عبد الله بن سالم الأشعري الحمصي، روى له البخاري.
