    ومن المفرادت (يحمد) بضم الياء وكسر الميم، هو: عبد الرحمن بن عمرو بن يحمد أبو عمرو الأوزاعي. وأبو السفر سعيد بن يحمد الكوفي الثوري، من ثور همدان، كذاذكره أبو الحسن الدارقطني «يحمد» بضم الياء، قال: وأصحاب الحديث يقولون: «يحمد» بفتح الياء. وبقية بن الوليد أبو يحمد الميتمي، روى له مسلم وحده. وكذلك كل ما يأتي في حمير من هذه الأسماء، مثل: يحمد ويعفر ويمجد وينعم، فهو بضم الياءات، وما في الأزد وغيرهم من العرب من مثل هذه الأسماء فهو يحمد ويعفر بفتح الياء.
