    الهنائي والهفاني فـ (الهنائي) بضم الهاء والنون، من ينسب إلى هناءة بن مالك بن فهم، منهم: علي بن مبارك الهنائي البصري، عن يحيى بن أبي كثير. ويحيى بن يزيد الهنائي، عن أنس بن مالك، روى عنه شعبة، روى له مسلم. و (الهفاني) بكسر الهاء وتشديد الفاء، هو: ضمضم بن جوشٍ الهفاني، عن أبي هريرة، ثقةٌ، ولم يخرجحديثه في الكتابين. وهفان في حنيفة، هو: هفان بن الحارث بن ذهل بن الدول [بن] حنيفة. وقال عبد الله بن أحمد بن حنبل: سمعت أبي يقول: أخطأ معاذ بن معاذٍ حيث قال: عكرمة عن ضمضم بن جوسٍ الهزاني! كذا قال معاذٌ، وإنما هو: الهفاني.
