    هذيلٌ وهزيلٌ فـ (هذيلٌ) بالذال المعجمة، هو: أبو الهذيل حصين بن عبد الرحمن السلمي، رويا له. ومحمد بن الوليد الزبيدي، صاحب الزهري، يكنى أبا الهذيل. وسعيد بن عبيد الطائي، يكنى: أبا الهذيل. وحفصة بنت سيرين، تكنى أم الهذيل، عن أم عطية، وأنس بن مالك، روى عنها خالد الحذاء، وأيوب، وعاصم، وهشام بن حسانٍ، وهؤلاء كلهم روي لهم في «الصحيحين». و (هزيل) بالزاي المعجمة والهاء-أيضاً- مضمومة، هو: هزيل بن شرحبيل الأودي الأعمى الكوفي، عن أبي موسى الأشعري، حدث عنه أبو قيس الأودي، روى له البخاري في كتاب الفرائض.
