٥٢٩٦ - الشيخ الفاضل مسعود بن محمد بن عبد الغفّار بن عبد السَّلام بن على بن أحمد بن عبيد الله، عرف بالماهاني * * *ذكره الإمام الحافظ عبد القادر القرشي في "الجواهر"، وقال: هو من أهل "مرو". وكان فقيها، فاضلا، مفتيا، مناظرا، حسن المعرفة برواية مذهب أبي حنيفة، كثير المحفوظ. وكان يعظ وعظا مفيدا. تفقَّه على منصور بن محمد السرخسي. وسمع الحديث من عمّ والدته القاضي أبي نصر محمد بن محمد الماهاني. قال أبو سعد (¬١): سمعت منه. ولد في أحد (¬٢) الربيعَيْن، سنة إحدى وتسعين وأربعمائة بـ"مرو". وتوفي يوم الجمعة بها بعد الصلاة الثاني عشر من ذي الحجَّة سنة أربع وخمسين وخمسمائة، رحمه الله تعالى. * * *
