    ٤٦٩٥ - الشيخ العالم الصالح محمد بن غلام رسول السورتي * أحد الأفاضل المشهورين. ذكره العلامة عبد الحي الحسنى في "نزهة الخواطر"، وقال: ولد، ونشأ ببلدة "سورت"، وسافر للعلم، فقرأ على المفتي نعمة الله اللكنوي، والشيخ محمد سعيد العظيم آبادي، وعلى غيرهما من العلماء. ثم دخل "سهارنبور"، وأخذ الحديث عن مولانا أحمد على بن لطف الله السهارنبوري المحدث. ثم سافر إلى "الحجاز"، فحج، وزار، وأخذ عن الشيخ رحمة الله بن الخليل الكيرانوي، والشيخ إمداد الله العمري التهانوي، وعن السيّد أحمد بن زين دحلان الشافعي المكي. وكان يسترزق بالتجارة في معمورة "بومباي". مات لسبع بقين من محرَّم سنة أربع وعشرين وثلاثمائة وألف. * * *
