٢٦٠٠ - الشيخ الفاضل العلامة عبد الله الرومي المشهور بالجلبي * *كان من كبار العلماء، يعرف اللغات المتنوعة من العربية والتركية والفارسية، ويحسنها، وله معرفة تامّة بمصطلحات القوم، واليد الطولى في الفقه والأصول. قدم "الهند" في أيام شاهجهان، وسكن بـ "دهلي" في زيّ الفقراء، وكان يحسن إليه سعد الله خان الوزير، ويوظّفه، ثم وظّفه شاهجهان، وأعطاه اليومية، ولما تولّى المملكة عالمغير خصّه بأنظار العناية والقبول، وأمره بترجمة "الفتاوى العالمغيرية"، ذكره السهارنبوري، وقال: إنه كان نادرة من نوادر العصر في الفنون الغريبة. له مصنّفات عديدة في الحكمة والتصوّف. * * *
