٢٤٨٥ - الشيخ الفاضل عبد الله بن شريف الكجراتي، أحد العلماء المبرّزين في الفقه والأصول * * كان قاضيا بمدينة "أحمدآباد"، فتقرّب إلى محمد أعظم بن عالمغير حين ولي على "كجرات" (¬١)، فجعله قاضيا في معسكره، فاستقلّ به زمانا.ثم ولّاه عالمغير بن شاهجهان سلطان "الهند" القضاء الأكبر سنة خمس وتسعين وألف مكان القاضي أبي سعيد الكجراتي، فصار قاضي قضاة "الهند"، واستقلّ به مدّة طويلة. ثم ولي الصدارة. ومات في زمان يسير من ولايته، مات سنة تسع ومائة وألف، كما في "مآثر عالمغيري". * * *
