    ٢٢٣٢ - الشيخ العالم الصالح شعيب بن المفتى منهاج، الدهلوي، أحد العلماء المذكرين *. ذكره صاحب "نزهة الخواطر"، وقال: قرأ العلم على والده، وتفنّن في الفضائل عليه. وكان حسن السيرة والصورة، غزير العلم، كثير العمل، وكانت مواعظه مؤثرة في القلوب، لا يمكن لأحد أن يمرّ بموضع يذكّر فيه، فيتجاوز عنه بدون أن يستمع إلى وعظه، والعلماء كانوا يحضرون في مجالس وعظه، ويتأثرون به. مات سنة ستّ وثلاثين وتسعمائة، فدفن على الحوض الشمسي بـ"دهلى" القديمة، كما في "أخبار الأخيار". * * *
