٨٦٩ - الشيخ الفاضل إسماعيل بن إبراهيم، الشرف الزبيدي * * *.أحد مشايخ النحو بـ "زبيد". لازم السراج عبد اللطيف الشرجي (¬١)، حتى مهر فيه، وفي الصرف واللغة، بحيث إنه لما قدم البدرُ الدماميني "زبيد"، لم يكن بها من يُجاريه سواه، فكان لذلك يبالغ في احترامه، وينصفه، ويعترف بفضله وتقدّمه في فنه، وكان له مع ذلك اشتغال بالفقه. مات في سنة سبع وثلاثين وثمانمائة. كذا ذكره السخاوي، في "الضوء اللامع"، وقال: أفاده لي بعض فُضلاء "اليمن". وممن أخذ عنه العفيف الناشري (¬٢)، وقال: إنه شيخ نحاة عصره. * * *
