    ٨٦٢ - الشيخ العالم الفقيه إسماعيل بن إبراهيم بن عمر البنارسي *. أحد الفقهاء المبرزين في العلوم الحكمية. ولد بمدينة "بنارس" (¬١) سنة سبع عشرة ومائتين وألف، وسافر إلى "لكنؤ" مع أبيه في صغر سنّه، وقرأ عليه، ولازمه ملازمة طويلة، وأخذ الطبّ عن الحكيم محمد على الأصم الكلكهنوي، وولي الإفتاء بـ "لكنو" بعد أبيه، واستقلّ به نحو ثلاثين سنة، ثم رجع إلى "بنارس"، واعتزل بها عن الناس.له مصنفات عديدة في الكلام. مات لعشر خلون من جمادى الأولى سنة خمس وثلاثمائة وألف. * * *
