    ٨٣٣ - الشيخ الفاضل أسد علي بن الشيخ غلام شاه، رحمه الله تعالى * *. هو والد الإمام محمد قاسم النانوتوي الديوبندي، عدّ من المثقفين في عهده، وإن لم يكن تخرّج في جامعة، درج في دراسته اللغة الفارسية، - وهي لغة دارجة، كانت تستخدم في الدوائر الحكومية، حتى في عهد الإنجليز في "الهند" - إلى مرحلة "شاه نامه"، وهذه المرحلة كانت تسامي مرحلة (بكالوريوس في الفنون والآداب) ويقول التاريخ: إنه سافر إلى "دهلي" طلبا للعلم، غير أنه لم يواصل دراسته، آثر الزراعة على الخدمات الحكومية، واستقرّ في "نانوته"، وتكسّب بالزراعة. توفي ٧ ربيع الثاني سنة ١٢٩١ هـ. * * *
