    ٢١٩٧ - محمد بن عطية أبو عبد الله الشامي: من القرن الثالث، لم أجد له ذكرًا في شيء من المصادر الَّتي رجعت إِليها حتى ولا في "تاريخ دمشق" للحافظ ابن عساكر، ولكني رأيته روى عن مشايخ كثيرين منهم: خلف بن هشام البزار، وهذا توفي في أوائل القرن الثالث سنة (٢٢٩). "فهرس مخطوطات دار الكتب الظاهرية" (ص ٢٣٩). قال الدريني: ذكر له الشيخ ﵀ كتاب الخلافة، أحاديث مستخرجة منه، ولم يتبين لي من هو، وهو من طبقة مسلم، وأبي داود، فإِنهما رويا عن شيخه (خلف)، واللّه أعلم.
