"صحيح سنن أبي داود" (٢/ ٤٢٤). قال الدريني: ترجمه البخاري في "التاريخ الكبير" (٣/ ٢٤١ رقم ٨٢٥)، وابن أبي حاتم في "الجرح والتعديل" (٣/ ٤١٧ رقم ١٩٠٩) ونسبه: (الناجي)، وقال: سألت أبي [يعني عنه، فقال: شيخ. وقد وقفت على توثيقه عند ابن أبي الدنيا في "مكارم الأخلاق" (رقم ٣٣٢) قال عن أبي إسحاق الرياحي، حدثني داود بن أبي عبد الرحمن جار مالك بن دينار، وكان ثقة، والله أعلم.
