    ٣٠٤ - إِسماعيل بن صالح بن علي بن عبد الله بن عباس: ترجمه ابن عساكر في "تاريخ دمشق" (٢/ ٨٤١)، ولم يذكر في ترجمته ما يدل على حاله في الرواية، ولا وجدت له ذكرًا في شيء من كتب الرجال. "الصحيحة" (٧/ ٧٨٨ - ٧٨٩). قال الدريني: ترجمه ابن العديم في "بغية الطلب" (٤/ ١٦٤٨)، ترجمه مطولة، وقال فيها: " … وكان شاعرًا مجيدًا بليغًا متقدمًا في ضرب العود والغناء، … وكان جليلًا متقدمًا جامعًا لكل سؤدد، بارعًا في العلم والأدب والفلسفة والنجوم"، ولم يذكر فيه جرحًا ولا تعديلًا. وترجمه الذهبي في "تاريخ الإِسلام" (٤/ ٨٠٨)، وقال: "عيبه علومه".
