    أبو علي البصري. سكن بغداد، وكان من عباد الله الصالحين، وممن صحب سهل بن عبد الله التستري، حكى عنه أبو محمد الجريري. حدثني عبد العزيز بن علي الأزجي، قال: حدثنا علي بن عبد الله الهمذاني، قال: حدثنا الخلدي قال: سمعت أبا محمد الجريري يقول: قال لي أبو علي البصري، وكان ينزل في باب المحول: وصف لنا سهل بن عبد الله رجلا بفارس وذكر من فضله وشرفه. قال: فذهب إليه بعض أصحابنا إلى فارس فرآه قائما على التنور يخبز وقد عمل للحيته كيسا من خرق قال: فكأني ازدريته وقلت: ضاع سفري ثم قلت: أسأله عن مسألة أعرف موضعه فلما سألته قال لي: يا هذا كيف تسأل من قد ازدريته. ٧٧٣٥ -
