أبو السري الملقب. سمع يحيى بن معين. رَوَى عنه: محمد بن مخلد الدوري. أخبرني عبد الملك بن عمر الرزاز، قال: أخبرنا علي بن عمر الحافظ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن مخلد قال: سمعت أبا السري الملقب يقول: سمعت يحيى بن معين وسأله أحمد بن حنبل فقال: الحكم بن عتيبة ممن هو؟ قال: من بجيلة وقال: سمعت ابن إدريس يقول: مولدي سنة مات الحكم سنة خمس عشرة، فقال: عبد الملك بن عمير؟ فقال: قبطي وسأله عن سلمة بن كهيل؟ فقال: شيعي، فجعل أحمد بن حنبل يقول لابن عمه اكتب، وكان فتى كيسا. ٧٧٢٦ -
