يعلى بن عقيل بن زياد بن سليم بن هند بن عبد الله بن ربيعة بن إلياس بن يعلى بن محمد بن زيد بن يعلى بن عبد الله، أبو المنذر العنزي العروضي. كان يؤدب أبا عيسى بن الرشيد، وكان شاعرا، مدح أبا دلف العجلي، وروى أبو عمر الدوري المقرئ عنه ما أخبرنا محمد بن أحمد بن رزق، قال: حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن إبراهيم الشافعي، قال: حدثنا قاسم بن زكريا المطرز، قال: حدثنا أبو عمر الدوري، قال: حدثنا أبو المنذر يعلى بن عقيل قال: كان الأعمش إذا رأى حمزة قد أقبل قال: هذا حبر القرآن. ٧٦٢٩ -
