الفضل بن محمد بن الفضل أبو القاسم الطبري الفقيه على مذهب الشافعي. سكن بغداد وحدث بها، عن ابن مالك القطيعي، وأبي محمد بن ماسي كتبت عنه، وكان ثقة يسكن بالجانب الشرقي في جوار أبي القاسم بن بشران. أخبرنا الفضل بن محمد الطبري، قال: أخبرنا أحمد بن جعفر بن حمدان، قال: حدثنا أبو مسلم إبراهيم بن عبد الله البصري، قال: حدثنا أبو عاصم، عن ابن عجلان، عن أبيه، عن أبي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ:من حمل علينا السلاح فليس منا. مات فضل الطبري ببغداد في صفر من سنة تسع وعشرين وأربعمِائَة.
