    عرفة بن الهيثم، أبو محفوظ القصبي. حَدَّثَ عن عبد الوهاب بن عطاء، وعبيد الله بن موسى، وعفان بن مسلم. رَوَى عنه: أحمد بن علي الأبار، وعبد الله بن إسحاق المدائني وغيرهما. أخبرنا علي بن يحيى بن جعفر إمام المسجد الجامع بأصبهان، قال: حدثنا محمد بن جعفر بن حفص المغازلي، قال: حدثنا محمد بن العباس بن أيوب الأخرم، قال: حدثنا عرفة بن الهيثم قال: حدثنا عبد الوهاب بن عطاء، قال: حدثني سعيد بن أبي عروبة، عن حماد، عن إبراهيم، عن علقمة، عن عبد الله بن مسعود، عن النبي ﷺ في كسوف الشمس. قال أبو جعفرالأخرم: كان عرفة هذا صاحب يحيى بن معين وصديقه، وأخبرني أن يحيى بن معين نظر في كتبه فرأى هذا الحديث فلم ينكره.
