العباس بن علي بن الحسن، وقيل: الحسين بن مسافر، أبو الفضل. حدث بمصر، عن عفان بن مسلم وعاصم بن علي، ويحيى بن معين، وعصام بن رواد بن الجراح. رَوَى عنه: إبراهيم بن إسحاق التنيسي، وغيره من المصريين. أخبرني الأزهري، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن إبراهيم، قال: قرأت على أبي إسحاق إبراهيم بن إسحاق بن محمد التمار بتنيس، قلت له: حدثكم أبو الفضل العباس بن علي بن الحسن البغدادي، قال: حدثنا يحيى بن معين، وسمعته يقول: كان شريح قاضي عمر بن الخطاب، قال: وكان عبد الله بن مسعود على بيت المال. ٦٥٥٧ -
