عبيد الله بن أحمد بن علي أبو الفضل الصيرفي، يعرف بابن الكوفي. سمع أبا حفص الكتاني، وأبا طاهر المخلص، وعيسى بن علي بن عيسى الوزير، ومُحَمد بن عبد الله ابن أخي ميمي، وعلي بن الحسين بن إسماعيل المحاملي، وعبد الرحمن بن عمر بن حمه الخلال، وأبا الحسن ابن الجندي، وأبا الفضل بن المأمون، وأبا القاسم ابن الصيدلاني، وجماعة من أمثالهم. كتبت عنه، وكان سماعه صحيحا، وكان من حفاظ القرآن ومن العارفين باختلاف القراءات، ومنزله بدرب الدنانير من نواحي نهر طابق. وسمعته يذكر أنه ولد في سنة سبعين وثلاثمائة، ومات في ذي الحجة من سنة إحدى وخمسين وأربعمائة.
