    سعد بن حذيفة بن اليمان العبسي. ولي قضاء المدائن، وكان يحدث عن أبيه. رَوَى عنه منذر الثوري، وزياد بن علاقة. أخبرنا عبيد الله بن عمر الواعظ، قال: حدثني أبي، قال: أخبرنا الحسين بن صدقة، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن أبي خيثمة، قال: أخبرنا سليمان بن أبي شيخ، قال: حدثنا صلة بن سليمان قال: كان على قضاء المدائن سعد بن حذيفة بن اليمان، فَكَلَّمَهُ ابن جعدة بن هبيرة في شيء من الحكم وبين يديه نار، فقال له سعد بن حذيفة: ضع إصبعك هذه في هذه النار، قال: سبحان الله تأمرني أن أحرق بعض جسدي؟ قال: فأنت تأمرني أن أحرق جسدي كله. ٤٦٩٤ -
