جعفر بن عبد الله البرداني. صحب بشر بن الحارث وروى عنه، وكان يذكر بالزهد. حدثنا يحيى بن علي الدسكري بحلوان قال: أخبرنا الحسن بن أحمد بن محمد المخلدي بنيسابور قال: أخبرنا أبو الفضل العباس بن عبد الله بن أحمد بن عصام البغدادي قال: حدثني جعفر البرداني الزاهد قال: حدثني بشر بن الحارث قال: حدثني المعافى، عن سفيان الثوري أنه قال: لا يجد العبد طعم الإيمان إلا بالورع الشافي، وقيل لوهيب بن الورد: يجد حلاوة الإيمان من يعمل بالمعاصي؟ قال: لا، ولا من هم بمعصية. ٣٥٩٥ -
