    أيوب بن طهمان أبو عطاء الثقفي، من أهل المدائن. أدرك علي بن أبي طالب. رَوَى عنه شبابة بن سوار. أنبأنا محمد بن أحمد بن رزق، قال: حدثنا إبراهيم بن محمد المزكي، قال: حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق السراج، قال: حدثنا سعدان بن نصر، قال: حدثنا شبابة بن سوار أبو عمرو الفزاري، قال: حدثنا أبو عطاء أيوب بن طهمان الثقفي: أنه رأى علي بن أبي طالب حين دخل الإيوان بالمدائن أمر بالتماثيل التي في القبلة فقطع رؤوسها ثم صلى. ٣٤٢٠ -
