أحمد بن الحجاج أبو العباس السنوط. أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الواحد، قال: حدثنا محمد بن العباس، قال: قرئ على ابن المنادي وأنا أسمع، قال: وأبو العباس أحمد بن الحجاج البزاز كان سنوطا مثل المروذي توفي يوم الأحد لثمان ليال خلون من شهر رمضان سنة خمس وثلاثمائة. ما أقل من كتب عنه، كان عنده مسائل الفضل بن زياد القطان، عن أحمد بن حنبل، ونزر من الحديث مشهور بالصلاح.
