أحمد بن إبراهيم أبو شيبة الصوفي من أهل البردان. حكى عن الجنيد بن محمد وأبي علي الروذباري. روى عنه علي بن الحسن الصيقلي، وغير الصيقلي أوثق منه. أخبرنا أبو منصور محمد بن عيسى البزاز بهمذان، قال: حدثنا أبو الحسن علي بن الحسن بن محمد القزويني الصيقلي، قال: سمعت أبا شيبة أحمد بن إبراهيم يقول: سمعت الجنيد يقول - وذكرت النار عنده: هل تحرق المحبين؟ فأنشأ يقول: لم يفترق في الهوى فيتفق حتى يصح الهوى لمن عشق يحرق بالنار من يحس بها فمن هو النار كيف يحترق ١٨٧٦ -
