    ٩٥٣ - علي بن مكارم بن عبد العزيز، أبو الحسن الصوفي: كان يتولى المشيخة برباط ابن المطلب، وكان شيخا صالحا حافظا لكتاب الله، كان يحج في كل سنة عن الإمام المستضيء بأمر الله، ثم إنه رتب إماما بالمقام بمكة في سنة ثلاث عشرة وستمائة وأقام بها إلى حين وفاته، وقد حدث ببغداد بالإجازة عن الإمام الناصر لدين الله، وسمع منه جماعة. بلغنا أنه توفى بمكة في السادس من صفر سنة ثلاث وعشرين وستمائة ودفن بالمعلى، وقد قارب الثمانين، وكان صديقنا ﵀.
