٨٩٦ - علي بن محمد الفقيه، المعروف بالمسوحي: كان يخلف القضاة ببغداد، روى عنه: القاضي أبو علي التنوخي في «كتاب النشوار». أنبأنا عبد الوهاب بن علي عن محمد بن عبد الباقي، أنبأنا أبو القاسم علي بن المحسن التنوخي إذنا عن أبيه قال: حدثني علي بن محمد الفقيه المعروف بالمسوحي (¬٢) أحد خلفاء القضاة ببغداد قال: حدثني أبو عبد الله الزعفراني الفقيه قال: كنت بحضرة أبي العباس ثعلب (¬٣) يوما فسئل عن شيء فقال: لا أدري، فقيل له: أتقول لاأدري وإليك تضرب أكباد الإبل وإليك الرحلة من كل بلد؟ فقال للسائل: لو كان لأمك بعدد ما لا أدري بعر لاستغنيت (¬١).
