    ٧٩١ - علي بن الحسن، أبو الحسن المزي: من أهل دمشق، قرأ القرآن على أبي الوحش سبيع بن قيراط صاحب أبي علي الأهوازي وعلى غيره، وتفقه على أبي الفتح نصر الله بن محمد بن عبد القوي المصيصي، وقدم بغداد حاجّا، وأقام أشهرا بالمدرسة النظامية، وروى شيئا يسيرا، روى عنه ابن أخيه يوسف بن محمد بن مقلد الدمشقي إنشادا سمعه منه ببغداد.
