٥٤٣ - علي بن أحمد بن حاتم بن برهان، أبو الحسن:من أهل الدينور، سافر الكثير، وسمع على كبر سنة من أبي بكر عبد الغفار بن محمد بن الحسين الشيروي وأبي عبد الله محمد بن الفضل بن أحمد بن الصاعدي الفراوي بنيسابور، وأبي الحسن علي بن أحمد بن الإسلامي ببلخ، ونزل بغداد واستوطنها، وكان يسكن بالمدرسة النظامية ويخدم بيت العدل عبد الملك الدينوري، حدث باليسير، روى عنه أبو سعد بن السمعاني. أخبرني شهاب الحاتمي بهراة قال: سمعت أبا سعد بن السمعاني يقول: علي بن أحمد الدينوري قرأت عليه وسألته عن مولده، فقال: بالدينور سنة سبع وسبعين وأربعمائة.
