    ٩٦- محمد بن حارث الخشني من أهل العلم والفضل، فقيه محدث، روى عن ابن وضاح ونحوه، جمع كتاباً في "أخبار القضاة بالأندلس" وكتاباً آخر في "أخبار الفقهاء والمحدثين" وكتاباً في الاتفاق [والاختلاف] لمالك بن أنس وأصحابه، ذكره أبو عمر بن عبد البر [النمري] روى عنه أبو سعيد بن يونس في تاريخه وفيات جماعة من أهل الأندلس ممن مات قبل الثلاثمائة وبعدها بمدة وقد أفصح أبو سعيد باسمه ونسبته في موضعين من التاريخ في باب السين وفي باب النون وما أراه لقيه ولكنه عاصره وكان في زمانه، ووقف على كتابه وإنما يقول فيما يورده عنه من ذلك: ذكره الخشني في كتابه، كان حياً في حدود الثلاثين وثلاثمائة.
